Welcome to Plano Chapter #37

The National Sons of the American Revolution (NSAR) was founded in 1883 as a patriotic and hereditary society to honor and preserve the memory of Revolutionary War ancestors and events leading to the founding of the United States of America. We are the lineal descendants of the men and women who fought in and supported the cause that created The United States of America. Our members, not only descend from the Patriots you have read about, but also the everyday people who believed in and fought for a better way of life.

The objectives of the Plano Chapter and our Society are purely patriotic, historical, educational and are designed to perpetuate the memory of those who, by their sacrifices during the War of the American Revolution, achieved independence for the American people. As such, the Mission of the Plano Chapter is to:

  • Preserve the National Heritage
  • Promote patriotism to the adult and youth citizenry of the community
  • Assure an accurate and non-politicized history of the United States of America
  • Educate the youth of our country as to the history and principles of democracy
  • Recognize outstanding local citizens, law enforcement, fire, EMS personnel and 911 operators for their contributions to the betterment and safety of our community
  • Participate in and publicize national holidays and events of national importance
  • Honor the patriots, past and present, which have risked their lives and fortunes to found and protect The United States of America

The Plano Chapter was founded in 1986, grew quickly and continues to prosper - recently celebrating our 37th Anniversary in November 2023. By historically being one of the most active chapters in the state and the country, the Plano Chapter has been repeatedly recognized at both levels in recent history for our outstanding performance in the community and the North Texas area - winning the National NSSAR Americanism Award in 2010, 2012 and again in 2014 along with the President General's Cup Award in 2014. We thank you so much for taking the time to visit our website. We hope after viewing all our pages, you would choose to join us and enjoy any or all of the many activities that we are involved with.
